Dr Dominique Rigal

A co-founder of TOLLYS, Dr. Rigal graduated in Medicine from the Claude Bernard University Lyon 1. He worked at the National Institute for Science and Medical Research (INSERM) and before becoming Assistant Professor at the Blood Center in Lyon where he developed the “Gel test” device with Dr Lapierre, now used worldwide in the field of immunohematology.
He obtained a PhD at the Claude Bernard University Lyon 1 and spent 2 years at the Stanford University Blood Bank (USA). He became the director of the blood transfusion center in Lyon in 1994 and Assistant Professor in hematology and blood transfusion in 1997 at the Claude Bernard University. He was chosen to coordinate a European Research program in immunology (QLK3-CT-2001-01169 / 5th PCRD).
Dr. Rigal has published more than 180 articles in various scientific fields. He has registered 15 patents. In recent years he has worked on the role of dendritic cells, platelets in immunology and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
